2009 AIR CONDITIONING TUNE UP PROGRAM
A financially advantageous opportunity is being offered to a limited number of Texas utility customers who are willing to participate in an energy savings Air Conditioning tune-up program. The 2009 tune-up program is offered in the CenterPoint and ONCOR service areas and is FREE to qualifying customers.
The goal of the Air Conditioning Tune-up program is to improve the performance and operating efficiency of existing residential cooling equipment. The program serves to transform the tune-up practices of residential HVAC contractors and increase consumer awareness of the benefits of a quality tune-up service.
The program provides a unique tune-up protocol with services that go much “deeper” than many traditional tune-ups. It offers homeowners an enhanced tune-up service and the opportunity to identify additional services beyond the tune-up that would improve system performance.
The technicians performing these advanced tune ups are trained and supported by ICF International. ICF is an international consulting firm that specializes in technology solutions for energy conservation
Residential utility customers who participate in the tune up programs are not obligation to purchase any additional services if they choose not to. However homeowners living in high usage areas and those who have high electric bills will be the first ones asked if they would like to participate. Studies show that many homes with high electric bills have dust problems, uncomfortable rooms and humidity problems. The technicians performing the tune-ups are trained to diagnose problems that cause these problems and offer solutions that will benefit the homeowners. Texas distribution utility companies also offer funds to help pay for many other energy savings measures the technicians offer.
The Air Conditioning tune-up programs have limited funds and are offered on a first come first serve basis.
